I. Much, Many, A lot of
1. Much digunakan untuk benda yang tidak dapat dihitung(uncountable)
~ there is much gasoline in the bank.
~ he always spends much money on clothes.
2. Many digunakan untuk benda yang dapa dihitung(countable).
~ many students are in the classroom now.
~ there are many traffic accisents today.
3. A lot of dapat digunakan untuk countable dan uncountable, tetapi hanya dalam kalimat positif.
~ a lot of (many) students were absent today.
~ There is a lot of (much) money in the purse.
4. Dalam kalimat tanya a lot of diganti dengan many atau much.
~ are many student absent today?
~ is there much information yet get?
II. A few & A little
1. A few=(sedikit), digunakan untuk benda yang dapat dihitung.
~ there are a few apples on the table now.
~ only a few people came ti the party last night.
2. A little=(sedikit) digunakan untuk benda yang tidak dapat dihitung.
~ i drink a little fruit juice every day.
~ i have only a little money, enough to go to the movie.
III. Some & Any
Some : beberapa/sedikit dipakai untuk benda countable maupun uncountable dan digunakan dalam kalimat posotif.
Examples :
~ there are some books thr cupboard.
~ Ali eats some bread for breakfast.
Any : arti dan penggunaannya sama dengan some. Akan tetapi dipergunakan untuk kalimat Negative dan Introgative.
Examples :
~ there are not any books in the.cupboarsd
~ Ali does not eat any bread for breakfast.
